Mayor-Jenderal Thomas Hardwicke (1756^[1] – 3 Maret 1835^[2]^[3]) adalah seorang prajurit dan naturalis Inggris yang berada di India dari 1777 sampai 1823. Ia mengumpulkan sejumlah spesimen sejarah alam dan menyerahkannya untuk dilukis oleh para seniman India. Dari lukisan tersebut, banyak spesies baru dideskripsikan. Sejumlah spesies tersebut diambil dari namanya. Kala pulang ke Inggris, ia berkolaborasi dengan zoologis John Edward Gray untuk menerbitkan Illustrations of Indian Zoology (1830–1835).
