Gulielma Lister (28 Oktober 1860 – 18 Mei 1949)[1] adalah seorang ahli botani dan ahli mikologi dari Britania Raya yang terkenal dalam penelitian tentang Mycetozoa.[2]
Kehidupan
Gulielma Lister lahir pada 28 Oktober 1860 di Sycamore House, Leytonstone, London Timur. Ia adalah anak dari Susanna Tindall dan Arthur Lister.[3] Berasal dari keluarga Quaker yang memiliki reputasi di zamannya. Kakeknya adalah J.J. Lister, dan pamannya adalah Lord Lister.[4][5]
Pendidikan Lister sebagian besar berlangsung di rumah, kecuali satu tahun di Bedford College for Women.[3] Di Bedford, ia memperoleh dasar-dasar botani sistematis dan struktural.[6] Ibunya, yang merupakan seniman terlatih, turut berperan dalam pendidikan seni yang diterimanya di rumah.
Lister menghabiskan sebagian besar hidupnya di Leytonstone serta di rumah musim panas keluarganya di Lyme Regis, tempat ia melakukan banyak penelitian lapangan. Ia meninggal di rumah kelahirannya pada 18 Mei 1949 akibat stroke.[6] Abu jenazahnya disebarkan di lokasi pemakaman Quaker di Bush Road, dengan peringatan di makam nomor 07.[4]
