Donald Warren Moffett (lahir 26 Oktober 1954)[1] adalah seorang aktor asal Amerika Serikat. Ia memulai kariernya dalam produksi panggung di Chicago sebelum membintangi produksi asli The Normal Heart di New York City pada tahun 1985. Ia kemudian membintangi produksi Broadway, The Boys of Winter[2] pada tahun yang sama. Ia membuat debut filmnya dalam film thriller Black Widow (1987), sebelum memerankan seorang pembunuh berantai dalam film thriller Lisa (1990).
Moffett memiliki peran pendukung dalam drama Stealing Beauty (1996), dan kemudian membintangi serial For Your Love (1998–2002). Karya film lainnya adalah Traffic (2000), yang membuat Moffett meraih Screen Actors Guild Award untuk Penampilan Luar Biasa oleh Para Pemeran dalam Film, dan drama remaja Thirteen (2003).
Mulai tahun 2008, Moffett memiliki peran berulang dalam serial drama NBC, Friday Night Lights, yang muncul selama dua musim. Dari tahun 2011 hingga 2017, ia berperan sebagai John Kennish dalam serial ABC Family, Switched at Birth.
Kehidupan awal
Moffett lahir di Highland Park, Illinois, dan dibesarkan di dekat Wilmette. Dari tahun 1969 hingga 1974, Moffett bersekolah di sekolah menengah swasta di Jerman, dan menjadi fasih berbahasa Jerman.[3]
Setelah kuliah di Universitas Stanford, di mana ia mengambil jurusan hubungan internasional, Moffett kembali ke Chicago dan mulai bekerja sebagai bankir investasi.[3][4] Moffett tidak bahagia dengan karier tersebut, dan kemudian merenung: "Sekitar pertengahan masa jabatan saya di bank, menjadi sangat jelas bahwa pergi ke bar dekat gedung Dewan Perdagangan untuk minum gimlet ganda dengan sekretaris bukanlah ide hidup saya."[5] Atas saran seorang teman, Moffett mendaftar di kelas akting di St. Nicholas Theater Company, di mana ia mulai belajar dengan William H. Macy.[5] Tak lama kemudian, ia memulai perusahaan teaternya sendiri, Remains Theater.[5]
