Études oleh Frédéric Chopin merujuk kepada tiga rangkaian étude (studi solo) untuk piano yang diterbitkan selama 1830-an. Secara keseluruhan, terdapat 27 karya, yang terdiri dari dua koleksi berisikan 12 karya, yang dinomori Op. 10 dan Op. 25, dan tiga lainnya tanpa nomor opus.[1]

Études Op. 10

Serangkaian Études yang pertama diterbitkan pada 1833 (beberapa telah ditulis hingga seawal 1829) . Chopin pada saat ini berusia 23 tahun, dan telah tenar namanya sebagai seorang komponis dan pianis di salon-salon di Paris, tempat ia berkenalan dengan Franz Liszt. Setelahnya, Chopin mendedikasikan keseluruhan opus ini kepada Liszt – "à mon ami Franz Liszt" (untuk kawanku, Franz Liszt).

Etude 8, 9, 10 dan 11 ditulis pada Oktober/November tahun 1829, sementara nomor 5 dan 6 barangkali dari tahun 1803. Études Op. 25

Koleksi Études kedua Chopin diterbitkan pada 1837, dan diperuntukkan kepada kekasih Frans Liszt, Marie d'Agoult, dengan alasan yang masih menjadi spekulasi.

Tanggal penulisan semua etude dalam opus ini adalah sebelum 30 Juni, 1835, yang menjadi tanggal sebuah kontrak antara Chopin dan Breitkopf & Hartel (pemberian hak penerbit di Jerman) (Krystyna Kobylanska).

Trois nouvelles études

Trois nouvelles études ditulis pada 1839 sebagai sebuah kontribusi untuk Méthode des méthodes de piano, yaitu sebuah buku panduan piano yang ditulis oleh Ignaz Moscheles dan François-Joseph Fétis, dan tidak diberi nomor opus yang terpisah. Meski secara teknik tidak secemerlang yang hadir di Op. 10 dan 25, ketiga étude ini tetap mempertahankan formula asli Chopin untuk keseimbangan struktural dan harmoni.
